Setting up your file

What file types can I upload?

PDF is best. Embed or outline your fonts and flatten your layers before you upload. A clean PDF moves through our file review fastest. We also accept JPG, JPEG, TIF, TIFF and EPS.

For large signage, stickers and labels, vector files (EPS or PDF) give the sharpest edges. Set fine lines and any text smaller than 9 pt in 100% black (K) only.

What resolution should my file be?

300 dpi at the final print size. Images pulled from websites are usually 72 dpi. They look fine on screen but print blurry or blocky. If we find low-resolution images during our review, we'll reach out before anything is printed. Waiting on a new file can push back your delivery date, so it's worth checking first.

What is bleed, and how much do I need?

Bleed is extra artwork that extends past the cut line. It gets trimmed off and makes sure your color or image runs cleanly to the edge, with no thin white sliver.

  • Standard products: 0.125" bleed on every side
  • Booklets: 0.125" on every side, so an 8.5" × 11" booklet is 8.75" × 11.25" with bleed
  • Presentation folders: 0.25" bleed
  • Vinyl banners: no bleed. Make the file the exact size you order, and keep text and logos 2" from every edge.
  • Other large format: see "How much bleed do large format products need?" below

Keep all text and important details at least 0.125" to 0.25" inside the cut line so nothing gets trimmed. Our templates show exactly where these lines fall. Cutting can shift by up to 1/8", so anything closer to the edge risks being trimmed. We center every cut as closely as we can.

Background runs to the outer edge. Keep text inside the dashed safe line.
Can my design have a border?

Yes, but we recommend against it. We cut many sheets at once, so a border placed close to the edge can look slightly uneven on some pieces. A wider border, or no border, gives you the most consistent result.

How should I set up the front and back so they line up?

Set both sides in the same orientation: both vertical or both horizontal. We print front and back "head to head," which means the top of the front lines up with the top of the back. If you want the back to read upside down, or you're ordering a fold-over or greeting card, rotate the artwork in your file before you upload. Our team checks orientation during file review and will reach out if something looks off.

Can I put the front and back in one file?

No. Upload a separate file for each side. A single file with both sides will not print correctly.

Should I include a proof or mockup with my upload?

No. Upload only the files you want printed. Extra files like mockups, samples or reference images can be mistaken for artwork. If our team needs something extra, we'll ask for it.

How do I export a print-ready PDF from Adobe products?

In InDesign, Illustrator or any Adobe program, use these settings:

  • Adobe PDF Preset: Press Quality
  • Compatibility: Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3)
  • Compress Text and Line Art: Off

Convert all colors to CMYK before you export. The preset does not do this for you.

How do I export a print-ready PDF from Canva?

In Canva, use these settings:

  • File type: PDF
  • Preset: Print
  • Color Profile: CMYK
  • Pages: Download pages as separate files.
  • Advanced Settings: None
How do I prepare AI-generated images for print?

AI images are often too small to print sharply. Copy the prompt below into your AI tool and fill in the size and product. If you'd rather have us do it, call 267-300-0003 and our team will prepare the file for you.

Take this uploaded image and prepare it for printing at [width × height in inches] on [product]. Check its pixel dimensions and upscale as needed to achieve 300 pixels per inch at the final print size. For reference, 12 × 12 inches requires 3,600 × 3,600 pixels; 2K or 4K alone does not guarantee enough resolution.

Preserve the complete design, proportions, colors, and lettering. Extend the canvas if needed to fit the print dimensions without stretching or cropping the artwork. Remove the background only if the product requires transparency. Convert suitable logos or line art into a true vector file if possible.

Inspect for blurry edges, artifacts, and misspelled text. Export in the printer’s required format, or a high-resolution PNG if unspecified. Report the final pixel dimensions, print size at 300 PPI, format, transparency, and file size. A large file size alone does not prove print quality. Perform the edits you can, and clearly identify anything you cannot complete or verify.

How do I use your templates?

Each template shows three lines:

  • Cut line: where the piece is trimmed
  • Bleed line: how far your background should extend
  • Safe line: keep text and logos inside this line

Folded products use templates marked OUT and IN. OUT is the front, the side facing out after folding. IN is the back. Upload them that way. On some fold-over templates the front is placed upside down so it reads correctly once folded. Don't move or resize anything in the template, and hide the template layer before you export so the guide lines don't print.

Getting the color right

What color mode should my file be in?

CMYK, from start to finish. Screens show color in RGB, and some RGB colors can't be reproduced with ink. If you send an RGB file, colors can shift when they're converted, sometimes noticeably.

Why did my blue print purple?

In CMYK, blue sits close to purple. Keep at least a 30% difference between cyan and magenta. For example, use C100 M70 Y0 K0 instead of C100 M100 Y0 K0.

C100 M100 Y0 K0Prints purple
C100 M70 Y0 K0Prints blue
On-screen colors are approximate.
What is rich black, and when should I use it?

Black ink alone (100% K) can print as dark gray on large areas. Rich black adds other inks for a deeper result.

  • Most products: C60 M40 Y40 K100
  • Dye-sublimation products (polyester banners, flags, table covers, fabric displays): C100 M100 Y100 K100
  • Small text and fine lines: use 100% K only, so edges stay sharp
How do I keep a black-and-white photo neutral?

A grayscale image placed in a CMYK file can pick up a green or yellow tint. Check that the image uses black (K) only. In Photoshop, add a Channel Mixer adjustment layer, check "Monochrome" and adjust until no other inks remain.

Can I use Pantone colors?

Yes, on products that print in Pantone. Those products include "Pantone" in their name on our website. Everything else prints in CMYK. If you upload Pantone colors for a CMYK product, we'll convert them, and some won't match the swatch book exactly. Pantone colors can also cause transparency problems, covered in the next question. For CMYK products, convert Pantone colors to CMYK before you upload so you see the true result on screen first.

What causes transparency problems?

Shadows, glows and transparent images placed over a spot (Pantone) color can print with white boxes or missing areas. To prevent this, convert spot colors to CMYK and flatten your file before you upload.

What is overprint, and why should I turn it off?

Overprint tells ink to print on top of the colors underneath instead of replacing them. When it's turned on by accident, colors mix in unexpected ways, and white text set to overprint disappears completely. Turn off overprint on all objects, flatten your layers and convert colors to CMYK before you upload. Our team watches for this during review, but it's best caught in your file.

What is banding?

Banding shows up as visible stripes in a gradient instead of a smooth blend. It usually happens when a gradient covers a big color change in a small space, or because of how some programs export. Give gradients room to transition, and zoom in on your exported file before you upload.

Paper, cutting and finishing

Why are the edges of my business cards cracking?

Heavy ink coverage, common with dark colors, can crack slightly at the cut edge on a few cards in a run. Lighter colors, or dark colors built with less total ink, reduce the chance.

Why is my folded piece cracking along the fold?

When UV-coated paper is scored and folded, the coating can crack along the fold, and the crack can grow with use. This is normal for coated stock. Ordering without UV coating helps, but it can't fully prevent cracking on a piece that's folded often.

Will my finished piece be the exact size?

It will be very close. Normal trimming tolerances can vary the size slightly. If exact dimensions are critical for your project, for example a piece that fits a display or holder, chat with us before you order.

What round-corner sizes do you offer?

1/4" and 1/8" radius.

How do counter cards stand up?

Each counter card comes with a 5" double-wing easel back with an adhesive strip. They ship flat, and attaching the easel takes a few seconds.

What's the difference between digital and offset printing?

Digital printing is ideal for shorter runs and pieces with variable information, like names or numbers. It costs less to set up, so small quantities stay affordable, and the quality is comparable to offset. Offset is the better value for larger runs. Set up your file the same way for either one.

Can my order be bundled into smaller stacks?

Yes. We can bundle pieces in stacks of 50 or 100, banded to USPS EDDM requirements. Bundling is available for up to 25,000 pieces. Add 1 to 2 days to your turnaround time.

Do you offer shrink wrapping?

Yes, on select products, in packs of 50 or 100. Add 1 to 2 days to your turnaround time.

Ordering, turnaround and pricing

How long will my project take?

Each product page lists its turnaround time. The clock starts when you approve your proof. Approve by 9 AM Eastern and that day counts as your first production day. Approvals after 9 AM start the next business day. Turnaround counts production days only and does not include shipping time.

Can I rush my project?

Yes, on select products. Rush options and fees appear on the product page when they're available.

My project doesn't fit the price calculator. Can you still help?

Yes. Request a custom quote for anything outside the standard options, such as an unusual size, quantity, paper or finish. We'll price it and confirm what's possible.

Do you check my file before printing?

Yes. Our team reviews every file before it goes to production. We check for the common problems covered in this FAQ: resolution, bleed, color mode, and orientation. If something will affect how your project prints, we'll email you as soon as we find it. If it's easier to talk through, we'll call. Nothing goes to print until it's resolved.

Our review covers print setup, not content, so proofread spelling, dates and contact details before you upload.

Shipping, pickup and reprints

How does shipping work?

Most orders ship directly to you, and some products qualify for free shipping. Shipping cost and options appear at checkout.

Can I pick up my order?

Local pickup is available for select Philadelphia-area zip codes. Choose pickup when you order, and we'll email you to confirm availability and send pickup details.

Can I return my order?

Custom printed products can't be returned, because each one is made for you. If there's a printing problem with your project, let us know right away, no later than 2 days after delivery. Include photos of the issue. Our quality control team will review it and decide whether it qualifies for a reprint.

I still have a question.

Business cards

How do I set up Foil Accent business cards?

Foil cards need two files for each foiled side: your regular print file and a foil mask file. The mask shows where the foil goes.

  • Use solid 100% black (C0 M0 Y0 K100) where you want foil and white everywhere else. No shadows, glows or gray tones.
  • Build the mask in a vector program such as Illustrator or CorelDRAW so the edges stay sharp.
  • Match the mask to your print file exactly in size and position.
  • One foil color per order. For example, gold on the front and silver on the back isn't possible on the same order.
  • Keep foil under 50% of each side, and avoid very small text or thin lines in foil.

Foil can shift up to 1/16" when it's applied, so leave room if it needs to line up with printed artwork.

Can I add Spot UV to a foil card?

Yes. Upload a separate mask for the foil and another for the Spot UV, which can mean up to 6 files in total. Keep foil and UV at least 1/16" apart. If they overlap, the foil can peel.

What's the difference between Foil Accent and Raised Foil cards?

Foil Accent is flat and smooth. Raised Foil stands up about 60 microns from the card, so you can feel it when you run a finger across it.

How do I set up Raised Foil business cards?

Raised Foil cards are 16 pt stock with a soft-touch laminate on both sides, for a total thickness of 19 pt. Set them up like Foil Accent cards: a regular print file plus a vector foil mask in solid 100% K, with white where there's no foil.

For the best result:

  • Keep foil to 30% of the design or less. Heavier coverage can look wavy. Up to 50% works only for patterns, thin strokes or small shapes.
  • Keep each foiled area around 1" × 1" or smaller.
  • Use text at 10 pt or larger, or 12 pt or larger for bold and thick fonts.
Can I have printing under the foil?

We recommend a solid color behind foil. Text or artwork underneath can show through. Avoid knockouts as well, because foil can shift up to 1/16" and leave a gap.

What's the difference between Spot UV and Raised Spot UV?

Spot UV is a flat, high-gloss coating applied to the areas you choose. Raised Spot UV is the same gloss, built up about 50 microns so you can feel it.

How do I get the best result on Raised Spot UV cards?
  • Keep UV coverage under 30%. Heavier coverage makes cards stick together in a block. Up to 70% works only for patterns, thin strokes or small shapes.
  • Keep each raised area around 1" × 1" or smaller.
  • Build the UV mask as vector art so the edges stay sharp.
  • Use text at 6 pt or larger, or 9 pt or larger for thick or bold fonts.
What are Painted Edge business cards?

Thick 32 pt uncoated cards with the edges painted in the color you choose. Set up the file like any standard business card.

Will my design affect the painted edge color?

Slightly. Very dark or very light backgrounds can shift how the edge color reads, mostly when the cards are stacked. A solid background color gives the most even result.

What are EDGE business cards made of?

Three premium stocks pressed together into a 32 pt card: a 9 pt bright white uncoated face on each side and a 14 pt black core that shows along the edges. The uncoated face is easy to write on with most pens, but test yours if it matters.

How long do EDGE cards last?

Years, under normal conditions. Keep them away from extreme heat, cold or humidity. A car windshield in summer, for example, will shorten their life.

What is metallic pearl paper?

A 14 pt stock with pearl fibers that shimmer in the light. It gives your colors a soft metallic sheen. Heavy ink coverage reduces the effect.

What are Soft Touch business cards?

16 pt stock with a soft, velvety laminate on both sides, for a total thickness of 19 pt. The laminate is scuff-resistant and gives the card a smooth, suede-like feel. It also softens colors slightly, so designs look a little lighter and less contrasty than on gloss.

Are Soft Touch cards waterproof?

They're water-resistant, not waterproof. A splash or damp hands won't hurt them, but they shouldn't be soaked. Test your use if it matters.

Marketing products

How do I set up plastic cards?

Plastic cards come in three looks, and the one you choose changes how your design prints:

  • White: solid and opaque, like paper.
  • Frosted: semi-transparent.
  • Clear: fully transparent.

CMYK has no white ink, so on frosted and clear cards any white in your design prints as no ink, and the plastic shows through. Every color prints slightly see-through and a little lighter than on paper.

  • Use rich black at C60 M40 Y40 K100. Don't use 100% of all four inks. It won't print darker on plastic.
  • Round corners are included at no extra charge.
  • Clear cards ship with a thin protective film on one side. Peel it off before use.
  • Clear plastic can arrive with light scratches on a few cards. We print extras to cover your full quantity.
How do I set up a booklet?

Start from our booklet template. A few rules keep your pages in the right order and your images lined up:

  • Page 1 is the front cover, page 2 is the inside cover, and so on.
  • Add 0.125" bleed on every side, so an 8.5" × 11" booklet is 8.75" × 11.25" with bleed.
  • Keep text and important details at least 0.25" inside the trim on every side.
  • Upload single pages, not spreads. One multi-page PDF is best, but separate page files work too.

Images across two pages: a large photo spanning facing pages works well. Avoid running text or thin lines across the fold. Saddle-stitch binding can shift pages slightly, so a crossover may not line up perfectly.

In InDesign: set the page size to the trim size, margins to 0.25" and bleed to 0.125". When you export, check "Use Document Bleed Settings" under Marks and Bleeds.

You'll get a proof to review page order before we print.

Do you offer landscape booklets?

Yes. Choose Short Edge Binding under Binding Edge on the product page.

Can I design on the spine of a perfect-bound book?

We recommend wrapping your background or image around the spine instead. Text, borders or color blocks centered on the spine alone can look off-center after binding.

What's the difference between digital and offset envelopes?

Both are printed on 70 lb premium opaque stock. Digital envelopes are printed on envelopes that are already folded, which suits light designs and short runs. Standard (offset) envelopes are printed flat, then cut and folded, which suits full-color and heavier designs.

How do I set up a digital envelope?

Choose the print sides:

  • 4/0: full color on the front
  • 4/4: full color on the front and the back flaps
  • 0/4: full color on the back flaps only

Then:

  • Add 0.125" bleed in total (0.0625" per side), and keep text and images 0.25" from the edge.
  • Use a white background with light ink coverage, such as a logo and return address.
  • Designs with more than 40% ink coverage need a standard (offset) envelope instead.
  • Avoid full-color backgrounds, and keep transparency effects and gradients to a minimum.
How do I set up a window envelope?

Use our template for the exact window position. Keep the window area completely blank, and keep artwork at least 1/8" away from the window's edge. The plastic window is attached before printing, so ink can't go there.

How do I set up a standard (offset) envelope?

Use our envelope template. These envelopes move during cutting and folding, so:

  • Extend color 1/16" past the edge and wrap it onto the back.
  • Artwork with bleed on the face, or any printing on the flaps, must be placed on our template.
  • Solid full-color designs and flap colors that extend onto the face hide small shifts best.
  • Gradients give smoother transitions than hard color breaks.
What are security tint envelopes?

Envelopes with a blue crisscross pattern printed inside, so the contents can't be read through the paper. They have a self-seal adhesive strip.

What are the file requirements for calendars?
  • Add 0.25" bleed on every side.
  • Keep text and details that don't bleed at least 0.25" inside the trim.
  • Keep the drill-hole area clear. The hole starts 0.1875" from the edge, at the bottom of odd pages and the top of even pages. Our template marks it.
  • One multi-page PDF is best, but separate page files work too.

You'll get a proof to approve before production. Spiral-bound calendars use black metal coil: 1/4" for 100 lb book paper and 5/16" for 100 lb cover.

How do I set up numbered event tickets?

Upload your ticket design as a PDF (JPG also works) and your numbers as a CSV file.

  • Numbers print in 14 pt Calibri, black only, up to 5 characters each.
  • Choose which numbering spots to use by naming your CSV columns after them. Our template shows the 9 available spots.
  • On dark backgrounds, knock out the area behind each number so it stays readable.

You'll get a PDF proof showing one ticket before we print.

How do I keep leading zeros (like 00001) in my CSV?

In Excel or Numbers, format the cells as Text before you type the numbers. If you reopen the file later, the zeros may look like they disappeared. They're still there as long as you saw them when you saved.

What if my CSV has more or fewer numbers than my order quantity?

We print the full quantity you ordered. Tickets beyond your list print without numbers. Numbers beyond your order quantity aren't printed. We print your data exactly as supplied, so proofread your list before you upload.

What bleed do counter cards need?

0.5" on every side. An 8.5" × 11" counter card should be 9.5" × 12" with bleed.

Can I mail postcards with rounded corners?

Yes, with 1/8" corners. Cards with 1/4" corners must be mailed in an envelope, per USPS rules.

Can I run letterhead through my office printer?

Yes. Our letterhead works in standard inkjet and laser printers.

What are NCR forms?

Carbonless forms that make instant copies of whatever is written on the top sheet. They're used for invoices, receipts, order forms, packing lists and work orders.

  • 2-part sets: white and canary.
  • 3-part sets: white, canary and pink.
  • Sets are collated and glued along the short edge.
  • They print in full color or black ink only. One design prints on every sheet in the set.
How do I set up an NCR form?
  • Full bleed isn't available. Keep at least 0.25" of the glued (short) edge free of ink.
  • Use light ink coverage so writing stays readable. Avoid full-color or solid backgrounds.
  • For black-only forms, send a grayscale file. Color files are converted, which can affect how they print.
  • Most office printers can print on our NCR forms, but test yours first.
Can NCR forms be numbered?

Yes. Upload your design plus a CSV file of numbers. Numbers print in 14 pt Calibri, black only, up to 5 characters, in up to 4 spots that you name in your CSV columns. You'll get a PDF proof before we print. We print only as many forms as there are numbers in your CSV.

What is an NCR wrap-around cover?

A protective cover attached to the back of the book that folds over the front. Slip it under the set you're writing on so pressure doesn't transfer to the forms below.

  • 2-part books hold 50 sets. 3-part books hold 35 sets.
  • Leave 0.75" clear at the top of your design. The cover hides that area.
  • The cover itself isn't printed.
How do I set up a presentation folder?

Folders print flat, so start from our template. The template shows which pocket is which and where any business card slits go. Keep text and logos out of slit areas, and delete the template's guide lines before you export. Anything left in the file will print.

For printing inside, choose 4/4. The front file is the outside covers, and the back file is the inside.

Why is my presentation folder cracking at the folds?

Coated folders that are scored and folded can crack along the fold, especially with dark or heavy ink coverage. Ordering without UV coating helps, but it can't fully prevent cracking on a folder that's used often.

Do greeting cards come with envelopes?

You can add envelopes as an option when you order.

How do I make a multi-page PDF?

On a Mac (Preview): open the first page, choose View, then Thumbnails. Select where the next page goes, choose Edit, then Insert, then Page from File, and pick the file. When you're done, choose File, then Export as PDF.

On a PC (Adobe Acrobat): choose Tools, then Combine Files, then Add Files. Drag pages into order, then click Combine Files and save.

Large format file setup

How much bleed do large format products need?

It depends on the product:

ProductBleedKeep text and logos inside
Rigid signs (yard signs, PVC, foamcore, gator board, aluminum, acrylic), car magnets, banner stands, posters0.5" on every side0.5" from the cut
Vinyl, mesh and canvas bannersNone. Make the file the exact size you order.2" from every edge (hems and grommets)
Polyester (fabric) banners, flags, SEG and tension fabric displays0.5" on every side2" for flags, 1" for others
Table throws and runners0.5" on every side1" from every edge
Mounted canvas2" on every side (wraps the frame)Use our template
Backlit posters0.25" on every side0.5" from the cut

Example: a 24" × 18" yard sign should be a 25" × 19" file. Don't add crop marks, color bars or registration marks. Anything in the file will print.

Why does my PDF come through without the bleed?

Your PDF only includes what's on the artboard. Make the artboard (Document Setup) the full size with bleed. For a 24" × 18" sign, both the artwork and the artboard should be 25" × 19".

What file types do you accept for large format?

PDF is best. JPG and TIFF also work. Outline all fonts, flatten your layers, and use 8 bits per channel, not 16.

What resolution do I need for large format?

Large prints are viewed from farther away, so they need fewer pixels per inch than small prints. At full size, aim for:

ProductResolution at full size
Outdoor bannersAbout 150 dpi
Flags, backdrop bannersAbout 150 dpi
Yard signs, adhesive vinyl, table runners, A-frame signs, backlit postersAbout 200 dpi
Canvas, foamcore, PVCAbout 250 dpi
Indoor banners, banner stands, car magnets, floor graphics, postersAbout 300 dpi

Banners longer than 15 feet will print below 150 dpi, which is normal for their viewing distance.

Should I design at full size or scale it down?

For very large pieces, design at a smaller scale. Most design programs can't make an artboard larger than about 228", and many PDF readers stop at 200". Image files also max out at 30,000 pixels on a side. For an outdoor banner, half scale at 300 dpi prints the same as full scale at 150 dpi. Large files take longer to upload, and scaling keeps them manageable.

How big should my text be to read from a distance?

A good rule of thumb: every 1" of letter height reads from about 10 feet away, and about 30 feet for the best impact. So 3" letters read from roughly 30 feet. Bold, simple fonts and high contrast read farthest. If you're unsure, chat with us and we'll help you size it.

Can my banner or sign have a border?

We recommend against it. Large format materials vary slightly from batch to batch, which makes perfectly even borders very hard to cut. Uneven border widths are a limit of the material, not a print error. If you need a border, make it at least 2" thick.

What's the difference between raster and vector art?

Raster art, like photos and Photoshop files, is made of pixels, so it can blur when enlarged. Vector art, like logos and illustrations made in Illustrator, is made of shapes and stays sharp at any size. In Illustrator, set Document Raster Effects to 300 dpi so drop shadows and effects don't print blocky.

My logo is too small for a large print. What can I do?

Your logo needs to be recreated as vector art. A raster-to-vector service can do this, or chat with us and our team will help you find the best option.

What PDF settings should I use in Illustrator?

Use the High Quality Print preset. Before you upload, open the PDF and check that it's the right size with no extra white space around the artwork.

Do you print Pantone colors on large format?

No. Large format prints in CMYK only. Convert Pantone and spot colors to CMYK before you upload.

Do you color-match?

No. Color can shift slightly between print batches and materials, so we can't guarantee an exact match to a sample, a screen or a previous order.

Can I upload different designs in one large format order?

No. Each order is one design, in any quantity. For different designs, place a separate order for each.

How do I set up a double-sided sign with arrows?

To make arrows on both sides point the same direction once the sign is up, set them up pointing in opposite directions in your two files. Picture flipping the sign over and you'll see why. If you're unsure, chat with us before you order.

How do I set up a contour (custom shape) cut?

Upload two files at the same time: your artwork and a vector PDF cut file. The cut line must be:

  • A single smooth, fully closed path. Open or ragged lines will cut exactly as drawn.
  • Slightly inside your image's edge, so no background shows.
  • At least 0.5" from any other cut line, with no small or thin cut areas.
  • One cut shape per order.

Cut files from raster programs like Photoshop can't be used.

Banners and banner stands

What's the difference between vinyl, blockout, mesh and fabric banners?
  • 13 oz vinyl: our standard outdoor banner. Durable and waterproof.
  • 15 oz blockout vinyl: heavier, fully opaque, and lies flat after being rolled. Best when the banner is backlit by the sun or needs to look sharp up close.
  • Mesh: perforated so wind passes through. Best for fences and windy spots.
  • 9 oz polyester (fabric): dye-sublimated for rich color, wrinkle-resistant and foldable. Best indoors and for trade shows.
  • 10 mil indoor vinyl: smooth, matte and near photo quality. Used on retractable stands.
What size are your grommets, and where do they go?

Brass #2 grommets, 3/8" across. They're placed 1" in from each corner, either in all four corners or the top corners only, depending on what you choose.

What other hanging options are there for outdoor banners?
  • Pole pockets: 2" pockets fit poles up to 1" in diameter. 4" pockets fit poles up to 2.5".
  • Rope: 3/16" white braided rope sewn into the top and bottom hems, with about 3 feet extending at each end.
  • D-rings: 1" nickel D-rings on 1" polypropylene webbing, sewn into the corners for extra strength.
  • Velcro: a 1" white strip. The soft loop side is sewn to the banner, and the adhesive hook side comes with it for your wall.
Do you double-hem outdoor banners?

Our hems are sewn or heat-welded. Heat welding is stronger than a standard sewn hem, so double hemming isn't needed.

Will my banner come in one piece?

Most do. Very large banners may be made in sections and seamed together, depending on size and material.

Will my banner be folded or rolled?

Banners longer than 96" are folded to keep shipping costs down. Smaller banners are rolled. Fabric banners are always folded. Creases relax once the banner is hung, and fabric can be lightly ironed on low heat.

How do I clean and store a banner?

Lay it flat and wash with mild dish soap and lukewarm water. Don't use abrasive or petroleum-based cleaners. Let both sides dry completely, because any moisture left can cause mildew. Roll it loosely with the print facing out, and store the box lying flat in a cool, dry place.

What size are retractable banner stands?

Our standard retractable stand holds a 33" × 80" banner. Make your file 34" × 81" with bleed. It packs into a carrying bag and sets up in a few steps. Double-sided stands hold two banners back to back and are for indoor use only.

What size is the X-banner stand?

24" × 60". Make your file 25" × 61" with bleed. It has grommets in each corner and comes in a slim carrying bag.

What are tabletop retractable banners?

Why can I see faint lines on my coroplast sign?

Coroplast is corrugated, with hollow channels called flutes inside. A very faint linear pattern can show through the print. It's normal for the material.

How many H-stakes do I need?

One H-stake for signs 24" × 18" or smaller, and two for larger signs. Order your sign with vertical flutes so the stake slides in. H-stakes work best in soft ground like grass or dirt. They may ship in a separate box and can arrive a day apart.

What finishing options do aluminum and acrylic signs have?
  • Round or straight corners
  • Contour (custom shape) cuts
  • 3/8" drill holes, placed 1" from each corner
  • 5/8" × 1" standoff hardware (choose drill holes too, so it can be installed)

Heavy-duty aluminum and acrylic come in sizes from 4" × 4" up to 46" × 36".

What is aluminum sandwich board?

Two thin aluminum sheets with a solid plastic core, 3 mm (1/8") thick in total, with a black edge. You may also know it as Dibond® or ACM. One side is white and the other is brushed silver. Printing on the silver side needs a white ink mask file, so your colors stay vibrant.

How do I set up an acrylic sign?

Acrylic is clear and printed on the back, so reverse (mirror) your artwork before you upload. Add 0.5" bleed.

  • 4/0 (no white ink): colors print slightly see-through.
  • 5/0 (with white ink): upload a white mask file as well (see "How do I set up a white ink mask?"). Colors over white print solid, and areas without white stay clear.
What are A-frame sidewalk signs?

Folding sidewalk stands that hold double-sided coroplast signs, for indoor or outdoor use.

What are rider signs?

Small 24" × 6" coroplast signs that sit on top of a yard sign or A-frame, often for "Sold" or "Open House." They attach with optional 8" metal rider pins or a clamp.

What comes with the real estate post?

A 72" white vinyl post with a 40" arm, a decorative cap, a metal ground stake and hanging hardware. It's UV-protected and won't yellow or crack. All the parts store inside the post. It comes with a 3 mm PVC hanging sign in 24" × 18" or 30" × 24". Add 0.5" bleed and keep 0.5" clear for the grommets. The post and sign ship in separate boxes. Clean with mild detergent and warm water.

How should I install large signs and displays?

For anything large, high up or exposed to wind, we recommend professional installation. Think about where the piece will go and what weather it will face before you order.

Flags

What flag shapes do you offer?

Feather flags, teardrop flags and rectangular pole flags. All are dye-sublimated on 3 oz polyester for long-lasting color that's visible from a distance.

How do I set up flag artwork?

Use our flag template. Add 0.5" bleed, and keep text and logos at least 2" from the edges and clear of the pole pocket. Artwork can wrap around the pole, but keep important details off the pocket seam. Hems are sewn in white or black thread, your choice.

What's the difference between single- and double-sided flags?

A single-sided flag is printed on one layer, so the design shows through in reverse on the back. A double-sided flag is two flags sewn together with a blockout layer between, so each side reads correctly. Double-sided flags always include a black reinforcing sleeve. On single-sided flags, the sleeve is an optional upgrade for durability.

What hardware comes with feather and teardrop flags?
  • Indoor: pole, cross base, cord, water bag for weight and travel bag.
  • Outdoor: pole, ground spike, cord and travel bag.

The indoor base with the water bag also works outdoors on concrete or asphalt. Hardware works with single- and double-sided flags. Assembly is quick.

How tall are feather and teardrop flags?

The listed height is the pole. The flag fabric is about 1.5 to 2 feet shorter, so it doesn't touch the ground. Final height depends on the base and how tight the cord is. Jumbo feather flags are 34" wide, and regular ones are 29" wide.

What comes with pole flags?

Pole flags have a canvas grommet strip on the left or right side for wind strength. Optional hardware includes a 6' pole, a two-position wall bracket and a mounting kit.

Trade show and event displays

How do I set up table throws and runners?

Use our template. Add 0.5" bleed and keep artwork 1" from every edge. Covers are hemmed 1" on all sides, in white or black thread.

  • 6' throws fit standard 72" × 30" × 30" tables, and 8' throws fit 96" × 30" × 30" tables.
  • 4-sided (closed back): a 30" drape on every side.
  • 3-sided (open back): a 30" drape on three sides and 8" at the back, so you can sit behind the table.
  • Runners fit 30" × 30" tables and have 54" of total drape, such as 27" front and back.
How do I care for table covers?

Machine wash cold on gentle with mild detergent, tumble dry low, and steam out wrinkles if needed. The 9 oz polyester is flame resistant under normal conditions.

What are SEG displays?

Lightweight aluminum frames that hold a fabric graphic edged with a silicone strip. The strip presses into a channel in the frame, pulling the fabric smooth and tight with no wrinkles or seams. The blockout fabric isn't see-through. Graphics swap out easily, and frames assemble without tools. They're for indoor use, and templates are on the product page.

What are event tents?

10' × 10' aluminum pop-up canopies with printed fabric panels. The panels are water-repellent, white fabric, and each can have its own design. Upload a file for every panel, even if they're the same. Two people can set one up in about 10 minutes. The fabric comes off the frame. Clean with a soft cloth, mild soap and lukewarm water, and let it dry before storing.

What are backlit posters?

A 9 mil semi-rigid poster for lightboxes. Backlit posters intentionally print darker so colors look true once the light is on. Large white or empty areas can show the lightbox through the poster. They work outdoors only inside a lightbox with a UV-protective cover. Hardware isn't included.

How are canvas prints shipped and set up?
  • Canvas banners: printed on 17 mil canvas, rolled and shipped in a tube. Hardware isn't included, so plan for your own framing.
  • Mounted canvas: gallery-wrapped around 3/4" frames, with the image continuing around the sides. Use our template and add 2" bleed per side. Each one ships in its own box.

For both, use 200–250 dpi in CMYK and avoid borders, because stretching can make them uneven. Our canvas and inks aren't archival.

Window, wall, floor and vehicle graphics

What's the difference between window cling, perforated window vinyl and opaque window graphics?
  • Window cling: holds by static, not adhesive. Repositionable and reusable. Best for temporary promotions. Clear clings are 8 mil and white clings are 7 mil.
  • See-through (perforated) window vinyl: shows your graphic from outside while you can still see out. Applied to the outside of the glass. Clean the glass without ammonia or solvent cleaners. Check local vehicle laws before using it on car windows.
  • Opaque window graphics (8 mil): solid and fully blocks light, with removable adhesive. They can be printed with two different images back to back. Adhesive goes on the back file, so it mounts from inside and reads from outside. They last up to 6 months on glass, or about a year if left in place.
How do I install a window cling?
  1. Clean and dry the glass. The cling works best near room temperature, not in extreme heat or cold.
  2. Mist the glass with soapy water: about 1% soap to 99% water.
  3. Peel off the backing without letting the cling fold onto itself.
  4. Place it, then squeegee from the center out, using a squeegee or credit card, to remove water and bubbles.

Keep the backing if you plan to reuse the cling.

How do I make a clear cling or decal readable from outside?

Choose "Mounted From Inside" when you order, and reverse (mirror) your artwork before you upload.

How do I set up a white ink mask?

Clear clings, clear stickers, acrylic and brushed-silver aluminum can use white ink behind your colors. Upload a separate white mask file the same size as your artwork:

  • Make it in vector format (EPS or PDF).
  • Use solid 100% K (C0 M0 Y0 K100) where white ink should go.
  • Color over white prints solid. Color without white prints slightly see-through. White with no color prints white.
How do I apply wall graphics?

Wall graphics use a low-tack adhesive that removes cleanly and can be repositioned many times. They work best on smooth surfaces like painted walls, desks and glass. Clean the surface with a damp cloth and let it dry fully first, because dust reduces how many times they can be reused. Wipe the printed side with a soft damp cloth only, with no soap.

What floor graphics do you offer?
  • Vinyl floor graphics: for short-term indoor use on clean, smooth floors like tile or sealed wood. A textured, slip-resistant laminate meets UL 410 and stands up to normal floor cleaning. They remove cleanly within about 6 months. Not for carpet, concrete, asphalt or outdoors.
  • Aluminum floor graphics: a rugged, slip-resistant foil that conforms to concrete, brick and other rough surfaces, indoors or out. Heavy traffic and weather wear the surface down over time, so replace them when the grip wears.
How do I apply aluminum floor graphics?

Sweep the area clear of dirt and moisture, and degrease oily surfaces. Peel off the liner, lay the graphic flat, and press it down firmly with a hard rubber roller, making sure every edge is sealed. Apply at 50°F or warmer for best results, and never below 33°F. Stone and metal can be colder than the air, so test near freezing. It's ready to walk on right away.

Are bumper stickers and high-tack vinyl removable?

No. They use a permanent adhesive and may tear if you try to remove them. Choose a removable product for anything temporary. Bumper stickers can add a gloss UV laminate for longer outdoor life.

Will a car magnet stick to my vehicle?

Most car doors are steel, but some are aluminum, and magnets won't stick to those. Test your door with a household magnet first. Our 30 mil magnets have 1" radius rounded corners and aren't suited to very small text or borders.

How do I care for car magnets?
  • Before first use, lay the magnet flat on a warm car hood or roof for a couple of hours to flatten it.
  • Keep both the magnet and the car surface clean.
  • Remove it once or twice a week to clean and dry underneath.
  • Store it flat indoors, never on its edge, so it stays flat.
  • Clean with a soft damp cloth and water only.

Stickers and labels

Which roll label material should I choose?
MaterialLook and feelWater and oil resistantBest use
White BOPP (2.3 mil)Glossy white plasticYesProduct labels, bottles, jars
Clear BOPP (2.3 mil)Glossy clear plasticYesA "no label" look; white ink available
Bright silver metallic (2 mil)Mirror-like foil, heat and chemical resistantNoPremium labels; white ink available
Eggshell felt (70 lb)Textured, uncoated, 30% recycled contentHolds up to moistureCraft, wine and specialty labels
Semi-gloss paper (55 lb)Smooth, budget-friendlyNoDry indoor use, shipping and price labels

All roll labels are rated for indoor use. Test your application if your labels will face moisture, cold or handling.

How do I set up a roll label file?

Use our roll label template, because roll labels have their own bleed rules. Add 0.125" bleed outside the cut line, and keep text 0.125" inside it. Make your file the exact size of the label you're ordering plus bleed. Smaller files won't print correctly.

What shapes and sizes are available?

Circles, ovals, and squares or rectangles with 1/8" rounded corners for easy peeling. Custom shapes are available in 1" × 1" through 6" × 6" squares.

How do I set up a custom-shaped roll label?

Upload your artwork plus a cut file:

  • Vector EPS or PDF
  • A black line, 0.5 to 1 pt thick, showing exactly where to cut
  • 0.125" bleed beyond the cut line
  • No very thin lines, and no shapes smaller than 1/8"
What is the unwind direction?

The direction your labels come off the roll. It matters if you use a label dispenser or applicator. Match the direction to your machine.

Will your roll labels fit my dispenser?

Our rolls have a 3" core and an outer diameter of up to 6", which fits most hand-held dispensers. Check your dispenser's specs if you use anything else.

How do I keep small text, barcodes and QR codes sharp?

Use 100% black (K) only, with no other inks mixed in, for small text, barcodes and QR codes. Keep text at 9 pt or larger, or 8 pt or larger on metallic labels. Vector files work best. Keep images at 300 dpi or higher. Roll label printing is very high quality, but fine photo detail can be slightly softer than on offset-printed paper.

How do I use white ink on clear or metallic labels?

Upload a white mask file with your artwork. The setup is the same as "How do I set up a white ink mask?" in the window graphics section. On clear labels, white makes colors solid. On metallic labels, white covers the foil, so colors print flat instead of metallic. Where color overlaps white, extend the color 1–2 pixels past the white to avoid thin gaps.

Should I laminate my labels?

Lamination adds protection against scratches, chemicals and temperature changes. It also gives a finished look, in silk (soft matte) or gloss, both 1 mil clear.

Can I write on roll labels?

Ballpoint pen works on unlaminated semi-gloss and eggshell felt. Permanent marker works on every material, including laminated labels, once it dries. Gel pens and pencils won't work well. Test your pen first.

Can I use roll labels on food packaging?

Only with an FDA-approved food-contact layer between the label and the food. Make sure your use meets FDA rules for your product.

Are bumper stickers weatherproof?

Yes. They're printed on 4 mil premium white vinyl with a strong adhesive, made to handle sun, rain and car washes. The adhesive is permanent, so they aren't meant to be removed.

Apparel and promotional products

How do I set up artwork for t-shirts and tote bags?
  • Save your design with a transparent background (PDF, TIF or EPS) so the garment color shows through. A white or colored background will print as a box.
  • No bleed and no crop marks.
  • Accepted files: PDF, JPG and EPS.

Our apparel and promotional products come from more than one maker, so print methods and sizes vary. Each product page lists its print area and options.

What's the print area on a t-shirt?

It depends on the shirt, so check the print area and template on the product page before you design. Women's and youth sizes usually have a smaller print area than adult sizes. For a left- or right-chest logo, place it where you want it within the full print area. For back-only printing, choose 0/4.

What's the print area on a tote bag?

It depends on the bag. Check the print area on the product page and make your file exactly that size.

How are mugs printed?

In full color, wrapped around the mug. The print area depends on the mug's size and style, and it's listed on the product page.

Make your file the size of the print area, and place your logo left, center or right within it.

White isn't printed on white mugs, so leave the background as no fill (C0 M0 Y0 K0).

Will a button's pin line up perfectly with my design?

Not always. The pin can sit slightly off from your design's orientation. Just adjust the angle when you pin it on. Magnet buttons are for metal surfaces like fridges and filing cabinets, not clothing.

Direct mail and EDDM

What is EDDM?

Every Door Direct Mail® is a U.S. Postal Service program that delivers your postcard or flyer to every address on the mail routes you choose. You don't need a mailing list or your own postage permit, and the postage is lower than First-Class. It's a simple way to reach a neighborhood or a whole zip code.

What's the difference between EDDM Print Only and EDDM Full Service?
  • Print Only: we print your EDDM pieces and ship them to you. You take them to the post office and handle the USPS paperwork. Your artwork must include an EDDM indicia and a return address, and follow USPS EDDM rules.
  • Full Service: you pick your routes on our map and upload your artwork. We handle printing, bundling, paperwork and drop-off at USPS. Postage is included in your checkout total.
How do I set up EDDM artwork?

Use the EDDM template for the service you choose. For Full Service, the template includes our postage indicia. Place the indicia and your return address together on one side, in the top half of the piece. For single-sided (4/0) pieces, they go on the front. EDDM pieces must meet USPS size rules for flats, and our EDDM products are already sized to qualify. Upload a PDF (JPG also works).

How do I choose my EDDM routes?

Enter an address or zip code. The map shows every USPS carrier route within 1 mile, and you can widen the radius. Click a route to add or remove it, or switch to List View. List View shows the residential and business counts and household income for each route. Check "Residential Only" to skip businesses. Your total, including postage, updates as you choose.

What does your direct mail service include?

Beyond EDDM, we can mail to your own list as a custom order. Chat with us or call 267-300-0003 for a quote. The service includes:

  • Processing your mailing list
  • CASS address certification and National Change of Address (NCOA) updates
  • Removing duplicate addresses
  • Presorting for postage discounts
  • Inkjet addressing
  • Drop-off at the post office

Postage is a separate charge. It's estimated when you order and finalized once your list is processed.

What mailing classes and minimums are available?
ClassMinimum piecesTypical delivery after drop-off
Presorted First-Class5001–3 business days
First-Class (not presorted)2001–3 business days
Presorted Marketing Mail (Standard)200About 2 weeks, lowest postage
Nonprofit Marketing Mail200About 2 weeks
What products can you mail?

Postcards, flyers, brochures, rack cards, sell sheets, letterhead and booklets up to 12 pages.

How do I set up a mailing list?

Send a CSV file, and use our mailing list template so the columns are right. Standard addressing includes up to 5 lines per address. For more lines, chat with us first. Choose how strictly we validate your list:

  • Accept all: mail to every address exactly as supplied.
  • Most popular: remove exact duplicates and apply basic address checks.
  • Exact match: mail only to USPS-verified addresses.
How much space do I need for the address and postage?

Leave a blank area 4" wide × 2.5" tall for the address and barcode, and 1" × 1" in the top right corner for the postage indicia. Our mailing templates show the exact positions.

What is tabbing?

USPS requires folded mail pieces to be sealed with small round tabs. We apply the number your piece needs, and tabbing is priced into your mailing order.

How long does mailing take?

Mailing turnaround starts once you approve your validated mailing list:

QuantityMailing turnaround
200–25,0001–3 business days
30,000–60,0003–5 business days
65,000–100,0005–7 business days

This is added to the printing time. Once your mail is handed to USPS, delivery timing is up to the Postal Service.

What happens to extra pieces that aren't mailed?

Once addressing is done, we can ship the extras to you, send them to another address, or recycle them for you.

Can you mail for a nonprofit?

Yes, if your organization has an active nonprofit account with USPS. Give us your CRID or authorization number, and use your organization's name and address exactly as USPS has them on file as the return address.

Can I use my own postage permit?

No. Our mailing service uses our permit, which is already printed in our templates.

Can you address pieces printed somewhere else?

No. We can only address and mail pieces we print. If you plan to use another mail house for our printed pieces, bring them a sample first to confirm their equipment works with our stock.

More about shipping

Can you ship to a P.O. box?

Yes, within the carrier's size limits. Large or heavy orders, like banners and signs, may need a street address.

Can you ship my order to someone else?

Yes. Enter their address as the shipping address at checkout.

Can I split one order between two addresses?

Not on a single order. To ship 5,000 to one address and 5,000 to another, place two orders of 5,000.

Can I use my own shipping account?

Not at this time. All orders ship on our carrier accounts, priced at checkout.

What are the freight options?

Large orders may show freight options at checkout:

  • No liftgate: you unload the pallet from the truck. Best for businesses with a forklift or loading dock.
  • With liftgate: the driver lowers the pallet to the ground, and you move it from there with a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Inside delivery: the driver brings the pallet inside to the ground floor. Upper floors need a freight elevator.

Priority freight usually arrives in 1–3 days and economy freight in 3–6 days. Transit times aren't guaranteed.

Why wasn't my address accepted?

Our site checks every address with the carrier so your package arrives on the first try. Double-check the spelling, street number, suite or unit, city and zip code. If a carrier has to correct an incomplete address, it may charge an address correction fee.

What if my package is returned as undeliverable?

It comes back to us, and we'll contact you to arrange delivery. A reshipping fee applies.

Why is shipping higher on large format orders?

Banners, signs and displays are large and heavy, and carriers price by size as well as weight. That's also why banners longer than 96" are folded rather than rolled. We pass along the best carrier rates available.
